Intro to Chair Dance
$30.00 Instructor: Chelsea Hart Date: Thursday, April 4 Time: 6pm – 7:30pm Cost: $30 Pre-requisite to Open Level Chair Cabaret Progressive with Chelsea. Learn some fundamental skills and live out your chair dance fantasies in this one and a half hour intro level workshop with Chelsea Hart. We will work on a saucy piece of choreography and learn a trick or two all while being supported by your new favorite dance partner: the chair. All bodies are welcome! What to wear/bring: Bring water. Wear extra layers on your knees like leg warmers or knee pads. Heels are encouraged but not necessary. -
Managing Performer Finances 101

Cost: $30Money & finances can be stressful, especially when it comes to understanding how to manage it for your performance life. It doesn’t have to be that way anymore with the right guidance, coming from a fellow performer!
In this workshop, you will learn:
– How to look at the money specific to your performance work vs. the money that you take home from other jobs
– How to organize your performance financials to scale for growth
– How to set up and manage budgets for travelor designing new acts / costumes that you can stick to
– How to set up tracking income earned (i.e. tips vs show pay)

Mīzon Garde is truly a 50% left brain, right brain split and is equally creative as she is analytical. Onstage, she is proud to call Kitten DeVille her burly mother and has been performing since 2018 traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe. Offstage, since 2016 she runs a boutique accounting firm, The CV Ledger, dedicated to empowering creative based small business owners to take better control over their finances and to make more informed business decisions through coaching, accounting management and business operations. It is her dharma to shift the way society thinks and talks about money through her latest project Naked Finance. Launching later in 2024, Naked Finance looks to cultivate individual money energy in attunement to collective cycles, by building community and connecting people with the necessary resources to provide education, training and support in the areas of finance that are needed most. -

Unapologetically Fat: A Fat Burlesque History

Description: Let’s talk about Fat Baby! In this facilitated discussion we will review a burlesque history timeline surrounding plus size burlesque performers. We talk about classic burlesque to neo-burlesque, and the impact of Fat performers. We’ll dive into the 2017-2018 A Fat Neo Burlesque Movement, examine “Burlesque is for EveryBODY” and of course, talk about fatphobia in burlesque.

About the Instructor:
Mx. Pucks A’Plenty is The They Them Yas Queen of Burlesque, The Michelle Obama of Burlesque, and Seattle’s Own Mxtress of Thiccness! They have been ranked in the Top 50 of Most Influential Burlesque Industry Figure for the past three years, landing at #17 in 2023, as voted for by thousands of burlesque fans and peers worldwide by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine, named 2022 Performer of the Year by Seattle Gay News, and was one of the Seattle Pride Grand Marshals in 2023. Spreading their Black Queer Magic wherever they go, Pucks is always in control. Pucks is also the founder and co-producer behind What the Funk?! Strengthening your Stage Presence through Clowning

Cost: $25In this experiential workshop, participants will get to practice vulnerability, awaken their senses, and play! Mother Girth will take you through exercises and activities to bring out your inner clown. Throughout the workshop, there will be time to reflect and discuss what you’re learning. This workshop will help you connect with self and be more fully embodied when performing.
What to wear/bring: Wear comfortable clothing, bring water and a notebook
About the Instructor:
Mother Girth is a proud fat, disabled, and indigenous burlesque artist from Penticton, BC. They made their debut in Vancouver with their signature act “Water Spirit’s Retribution”. They toured that act in Vancouver International Burlesque Festival, The Kootenay Burlesque Festival, and Isle of Tease. In 2019, Mother Girth won “Most Innovative” in the Edmonton Burlesque Festival’s Bunny Competition. The “two-spirit tease” has been dominating stages for 6 years with their raw sexuality and lively facial expressions. They were recently a Feature Performer in Fatlesque Fest Northwest in Seattle. Mother Girth celebrates their unique identities with joy on stage.
