Costuming for Burlesque 101

Whether you’re a DIY-er, a rhinestone newbie, or a hot glue die-hard, this class has something for everyone! Together, we’ll go through the basic of creating a costume for burlesque, from design to construction to embellishments.

In this lecture-style class, be prepared to be inspired and leave with strategies to create your own burlesque looks from start to finish! While this isn’t a sewing class, students will still leave with resources for how to begin creating, altering, or thrifting their own costumes. This class is a perfect primer to jump into what makes burlesque costumes unique and fun to create!

Week 2: Creating a Look- Sewing, Thrifting, Working with Costumers
Week 3: Embellishments

What to bring: Bring a note taking device, a comfy pillow or cushion to sit on, and your costuming dreams!
